WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
On World Communion Sunday, Christians from around the world break the bread of life and bless the cup of salvation in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and to bear witness to the unity of Christians around the world in the land of peace under the divine rule of the Triune God. This celebration, born out of a time of war, is marked by a call to peacemaking. As we gather in memory of the Prince of Peace, we are reminded what it means to be disciples of the Sovereign of heaven and earth.

BIBLE STUDY ON THE BELHAR CONFESSION
The 219th General Assembly (2010) of the PC (USA) approved and recommended to the presbyteries their affirmative or negative votes for the addition of Confession of Belhar to The Book of Confessions. If approved by a two-thirds majority of the presbyteries and the 220th General Assembly (2012), the constitution will be amended. It is recommended that congregations, sessions, and presbyteries plan for a time of study prior to the presbytery's vote on the Confession of Belhar. Following that recommendation, we will gather at 6:00 pm on the Mondays of October 18th and 25th to study the origin of this confession and review its biblical background.

SOUP DAY
The Session has voted to not hold Soup Day this year. They are planning other interesting events and hope that you will attend them. You are encouraged to give what you normally would have spent preparing for soup and other items as a special offering. Please note on your check that it is your Soup Day offering. The offering can be given at any time during November but will be dedicated during worship on November 7th.

CHRIST THE KING
On Sunday, November 21st the church year will come to a close as we celebrate the return of Christ. This special day pushes us to anticipate the consummation of all things when Christ comes in glory as King of all. We will participate in Communion on that day as we remember the Last Supper that Jesus shared with his disciples and look forward to the feast in the heavenly kingdom.
