PENTECOST SUNDAY
"And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting" (Acts 2:21). So begins the reading for Pentecost.

This year we celebrate the birth of the church on May 11th. Please wear red to worship services in remembrance of the "tongues of fire" that rested on the head of each disciple. Communion will be served on Sunday, May 18th, the day we celebrate the Trinity. Please plan to be with us for these special days this month.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE CHANGE
Beginning May 4th, Sunday worship services will begin at 11:00 am. For more details on this change, please visit our Worship Schedule page.
SCOTTISH REFORMATION SUNDAY
On the first Sunday of May we officially recognize and celebrate the establishment of Protestantism in Scotland. In 1560, the Scottish Parliament approved the Scots Confession and passed an act abolishing the authority of the Pope over the national church. The Scots Confession set forth three marks of a true and faithful church: "the true preaching of the Word of God, the right administration of the sacraments of Christ Jesus, and ecclesiastical discipline...whereby vice is repressed and virtue nourished."
.
This celebration is accompanied by a special event called the Kirking of the Tartans. Each clan gathers and comes to church (Kirk) for a special blessing of their family plaid (Tartan). Modern Presbyterianism is rooted in the Church of Scotland. Let's remember our heritage as we worship on Sunday, May 6th.
